Commissioned by Meta Open Arts, Voice Box is a generative animation developed with Kangaroo physics in Grasshopper and rendered in Houdini. Responding to Julio Cortázar’s Letter to a Young Lady in Paris, the piece reframes the story’s strange involuntary output as a kind of voice: not a single confession, but a shifting instrument. A circular form expands and contracts in steady pulses while its material and color continuously transform, suggesting timbre, accent, register, and mood, like a chorus moving through different bodies. The work celebrates voice as something lived and multiple, a responsive field that changes with pressure, rhythm, and light rather than a fixed identity.
